September Swimming Lessons

Important information about Swimming Lessons in September, please make sure you read

We can't wait to welcome people back to the pool. We have a number of swimmers who will be joining us on either the summer swim school or on crash courses during the summer holidays. For those who have decided to wait until September, we can't wait to see you all when lessons return.

We are receiving a number of questions regarding September and what will happen next so below is a brief outline of what lessons will look like at Neptune from September.

After consultation with our facilities we are pleased to announce that Swimming lessons will resume on Monday 7th September at all venues. All swimmers, who stayed with us during lock down have their places confirmed for September. There will be no re-enrolment process; you will simply return to your current space. We are aware that due to a lack of wrap around care and personal circumstances changing some customers may need explore changing days/times of your classes. If you need to please can you fill out the form below

We are planning to return back to the normal way of running lessons from September with 6 swimmers in a class. The current government advice would allow us to have more than 4 in a class for the summer swim school. However we felt it was better to start with lower numbers and build up. The government advice is that we can increase our numbers in classes as the children return back to school. This is of course a rapidly developing situation so things are still subject to change.  We do have a plan B, should we have to but at the moment this doesn't look like it will be required.

We are aware that a number of swimmers have now reached the age to move up a class. We will be working through these swimmers over the next week and contacting parents to arrange for swimmers to be moved up to the next class if needed. This will be sent via text and email for you to arrange the next class. We ask that these parents respond as soon as they can as we have limited spaces in each venue. If You wait too long to respond the spaces might have been taken and you may have to move to a different venue. It is really important that when we return in September that children are in the correct classes to ensure our teachers can deliver the best quality lessons.

Members Hub and Swimphony

Just before lock down we brought in a new system to help us to run and manage the swim school called Swimphony. The software acts as our bookings system and allows our teachers to register and grade all our swimmers. Unfortunately due to lockdown our teachers were unable to fully complete all swimmers grading, we are hoping to complete this within the first few weeks of the Swim School returning.

With the new Software, we also got access to the Members Hub. The members hub will be our primary form of communication with our swimmers. The software allows us to text and email our customers with information about our lessons e.g cancelled sessions, lifesaving weeks and cover teachers. It also allows you as the customer to message Steph directly and for her to reply to any question you have while also keeping a record of all communications with Neptune. So  no more lost emails.

As customers, there are other features that the system can provide you such as let the teacher know your child is sick or on holiday. You will also be able to see your current details and edit your email address, phone number and postal address. This means that you are also in control of your data and will also be up-to-date with the latest Neptune Aquatic Swim School information.

There are also a number of features that will be turned on over the next few weeks and months of the swim school. These include:

  • The ability to change days, classes and venues as you need to via an online learning system - this will be turned on shortly;
  • You will be able to see all your payments to Neptune as part of the Member Hub;
  • You will be able to obtain updates from the teachers regarding events like lifesaving weeks as part of the Member Hub;
  • You can book crash courses online via the new system;
  • And eventually - add additional siblings to the new system via the Member Hub

All emails will come from the software company (KINETIC COURSES), please make sure that you have set up your account so you can use these features moving forward. To access the members hub please click the link below. All users who are not registered already with the members hub have had an registration email sent out to them, so please check you junk folders.

Not sure how to use the Membership Hub, have a read of our step-by-step guide to how it works.

Fees for September

Due to the increased costs such as additional staff, extra cleaning and the need to provide more equipment, we will need to increase our fees in September. We will also no longer be offering an 11 month payment option, all direct debits will run continuously. We have worked hard to keep the fee as low as we can and to keep lessons affordable. The new fees can be found below.

1 Swimmers = £31.30 Per month

2 Swimmers = £61.04 per month

3 Swimmers = £90.77 per month

For Swimmers who paid their April DD

We have already explained what happens to your fees if you take part in either of the following, please see our other blogs for that information.

  • If you take part in the summer swim school and the fees for these classes will be reduced to reflect your April payment
  • If you take part in Crash courses and the fee will be reduced to reflect your April payment.

If your swimmer will not be returning to lessons before September, your September DD will remain at the £2.00 rate, this will go up to the standard rate for the 1st October. this is to reflect the fess paid in April.

Direct debits will be set up from this week (24-08-2020). However they will only be set for 2 months. At this point we will be integrating GOCardless into the Members Hub. Customers current Direct Debits will be cancelled and you will be asked to set up a new mandate through the Members Hub. Full instructions on how to complete this process will follow. This will provide customers with the ability to track their payments to us. It will also mean adding new swimmers to the lessons becomes easier as you wont need multiple mandates.

The New Normal

For those of you who have swam over the summer months, you will of seen our new normal procedures in place. These have been designed to ensure the safety of all our swimmers, parents and our staff. I am sure most would agree these procedures have really benefited Neptune as a whole and some of them will continue long into the future.

Over the next few weeks we will be updating our Welcome to the New blog (a link an be found below). this will give swimmers and parents information on how the swimming lessons will run and what will change when they return. We are currently working on video walkthroughs for all our venues and we hope to have these all ready very soon.
