Join us in January 2020 for our Hydro-cise Boot camp and boost your new year fitness regime.
Our personal trainer Stuart will be running this BRAND NEW course starting on Monday January 6th 2020. It's a combination of hydro-cise classes and personal fitness and nutrition advice. Here, Stuart talks a little about what to expect from his boot camp.
What is a boot camp?
"A boot camp is generally defined as including a fairly intense mix of aerobic, strength training and speed elements. Our hydro-boot camp is a little different as it's about working out frequently rather than at a very high intensity. We'll tailor the exercises to the group's ability and goals, with the intensity progressing as your fitness increases over the 6 week boot camp. There will be three hydro-cise exercise classes every week alongside a personal 1-1 review every week to discuss your progress and goals."
Why is a boot camp a good idea for January?
"Many people start off with good intentions in January but find it difficult to maintain once that initial burst of enthusiasm is over. It's cold and dark and hard to motivate yourself to do exercise. Our hydro-cise bootcamp is an instructor led class which is more likely to keep that enthusiasm going than if you need to motivate yourself. You'll see the same group of people at every session for 6 weeks and help to push each other on. Our pool is warm and friendly, the perfect place to exercise on those cold winter evenings! Finally, by committing and paying for regular sessions you're much more likely to stick to that exercise regime."
Why is your boot camp different?
"The hydro-boot camp is different as it's not a one-size fits all course. The exercises in the session will allow you to work at your own pace and within your own ability, so it really is suitable for all levels of fitness. The addition of the 1-1 personal advice sessions are aimed at helping you to reach your fitness goals, address any worries you may have and give you the knowledge you need to get the best out of your work out."
What is the format of the boot camp?
"From the 6th January you'll attend 3 hydro-cise classes every week for 6 weeks. I'll write a specific workout for the class based on the levels of fitness within the group and the combined fitness goals. The workout will be different every week and progress as the fitness of the group increases over the course. In combination with the classes you'll also have the opportunity to have some 1-1 fitness and nutrition advice every week. I'll run these sessions in the office here at Starfish Hydrotherapy Pool so they're private and confidential. I can provide advice on suitable exercises and how to manage your nutrition to help you get in the best shape in 2020!"
