Expecting a baby or recently become a mum? Our Hydro-natal session is for you!

Here at Seahorse Hydrotherapy Pool, Trowbridge we're planning to bring you a brand new session for mums-to-be and new mums. Hydro-natal is an instructor led session of low impact exercise and relaxation perfect if you're expecting a baby this year or have recently welcomed a new arrival to your family. Our sessions will run every Tuesday evening at 6:45pm with just 5 spaces available each week.

Pre-natal and post-natal exercise

Our Hydro-natal class offers a great way to stay fit during your pregnancy or after your little one arrives. The water provides support for your joints (and your growing bump) allowing you to feel more comfortable whilst exercising. Our low impact exercises are designed specifically for expectant mums and new mums to help maintain fitness and prepare your muscles for the added demands of pregnancy, birth and beyond. The water here at Seahorse Hydrotherapy Pool is heated to a lovely warm 33 degrees which can also help to improve your circulation and help you to relax. Hydro-natal is designed specifically for mums-to-be and new mums with safe, low impact exercises to help you stay fit in pregnancy and post-birth. As well as gentle exercises there'll also be plenty of time to relax in our lovely warm pool and meet other mums-to-be.

Is exercise safe during pregnancy?

If you feel well, the NHS recommends that regular, low-impact exercise in pregnancy can help your body to adapt better as your bump grows and can even help prepare you for labour. If you had limited exercise before you became pregnant we'd recommend you discuss starting an exercise programme with your midwife before you join the group. If you already had an aquatic-fitness or swimming programme before you became pregnant then Hydro-natal is perfect for you, although you may need to slow down as your pregnancy progresses and shortly after the birth. Our small group session allows our expert instructor the chance to get to know each of the mums and mums-to-be in the class and ensure that the exercises are tailored to their level of fitness. Here at Seahorse Hydrotherapy the safety of our mums-to-be and their babies is our highest priority, that's why we recommend that you shouldn't join the class until after your 12 week scan or until at least 6 weeks after your baby is born. When you sign up for Hydro-natal we'll send you a questionnaire to make sure you are well enough to join us. It's important to listen to your body more than ever during pregnancy and post-birth, so if you don't feel well enough to exercise but have booked a session, we will always move your booking to another date.

Pricing

We're offering a range of ways to pay for your Hydro-natal sessions here at Seahorse Hydrotherapy Pool. If you'd like to pay-as-you go a single session is priced at £13 per person. For the best value we're offering a range of session passes which can be purchased in advance. If your baby arrives before you've used all your sessions the remainder of your sessions can be used in Hydro-cise, Hydro4Fibro or Hydro4you sessions, or towards our Family & Friends Pool Hire. Don't forget that the health of our mums-to-be and their babies is of utmost importance to us, so if you need to amend a pre-booked session for any reason we will always re-arrange the booking for you.
