• What does my baby need to start swimming?

    All babies need to start swimming are well fitting swimming nappies (disposable or washable) with appropriate swimwear over the top. You do not need baby wraps or warmers


  • What do I need as a parent/carer?

    Appropriate swimwear and long hair tied back. All jewelry should be removed before entering the water for both yours and babies safety. 

  • When is it not ok for baby to swim?

    • Chicken pox - do not swim until all spots have scabbed over
    • Scarlet Fever - do not swim until antibiotics are complete
    • Hand Food and Mouth - do not swim until blisters are healed
    • Ring worm - do not swim until baby and family have completed treatment 
    • Sickness and Diarrhea (norovirus) - do not swim until symptom clear for 48hrs

    For all illness’ please seek advise from NHS england if you are unsure. 


  • I am breastfeeding can I still get in the water?

    Yes parents who are breastfeeding can still be in the water

  • How soon after birth can my baby start swimming?

    Please seek throughout evaluation from your health care provider before going for your first post natal swim 

  • I am pregnant with my next baby, can I still come to lessons?

    Yes you can still bring baby to their lessons. As your pregnancy progresses you may have to adapt the skills being performed in the lesson. Your teacher will offer guidance on this.

  • Can someone else bring my baby swimming?

    Yes, other adults can bring your baby swimming. Just make sure they have all the things they need!  

  • Can people watch from the side?

    We believe in swimming being a family affair. Other people can watch from the poolside but we ask that this is limited to 1 per family

  • I need to bring my baby’s older sibling, can they sit by the poolside?

    If your child is capable of sitting quietly for 30 minutes with minimal supervision then they are welcome to sit on the poolside. Please make sure if they are using a tablet or mobile phone that it is kept quite as to not disturb the lesson 

  • Should I give my baby a feed before lessons?

    We would recommend not feeding baby directly before lessons (more than 1 hour prior) as this increases the risk of baby being sick in the wate

  • My baby was premature, when can they start lessons?

    Please consult your child’s pediatric services to ensure they are safe to start lessons. 


  • My baby has been born with a disability or life limiting condition, can they join your lessons

    We have taught many babies with varying medical needs. Where we are confident your baby will be able to join us, please ensure you consult your child’s pediatrician before starting lessons to enable us to make adaptations where needed
